Here at Moxie, we love participating in community events.  One of our all-time favorites happens every August, and it’s called the 48-Hour Film Festival.  Essentially, each team is given a genre on Friday night and the completed film, 4-7 minutes in length, must be completed and handed in by Sunday night.  This means scripting, casting, shooting, editing, and graphics must all be completed in 48 hours.  As you can imagine, this can create chaos.

We drew “Suspense/Thriller” as our genre. Hey, at least we didn’t get “Western Musical” or “Fantasy” right?  We already had talent set up and ready to go on Saturday, so Executive Producer Kerry Roy, who flew in from Philly, and President Mike Schrader had a late night writing and scripting, only to get up at the crack of dawn to start filming.  We were fortunate to have an amazing crew who donated their time and talent and made the entire process run much more smoothly.

All told, the weekend was a tremendous success.  We turned in an awesome piece that we are very proud of, and now our fate is in the judges’ hands.  Screenings will take place next week and final decisions come in September.  For more info on the festival, check out the 48-Hour Film Festival website.
